All aboard the guilt train

So I've been nominated for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Normally, I would gladly do my part. This time, however, is a bad time. I have an ear infection that has been worsening in both ears since the beginning of the month, and then finally became impossibly painful after a trip to the swimming pool which I full-heartedly regret, along with not saying anything about my ear pain earlier. So, thanks to this, I am not able to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge until Friday at the earliest, which I plan to do if my mother allows me to do so. However, when I tried to explain this to the person who nominated me, she told me to "shut up", which has made me feel even guiltier and more upset than before. I want to do my part, but I can't. At least not at this moment in time, unless I want to suffer consequences with my hearing in the future, which I quite frankly do not. Yet even after explaining my reluctance to take part, she still didn't understand. I am incredibly upset right now, you don't understand quite how upset.
